A Day spent with Misty Mawn
Yesterday, Sam and I spent the day with Misty Mawn...learning a bit about her techniques in mixed media collage. WHEW!!! We were exhausted by the end of the day, but we felt very accomplished.
I am a FIRM believer in continued education of all areas of art...even if it's not in my "field"! I ALWAYS learn something to take with me, and I think that is what sets many artist apart. Below you will find Sandy's creations...Isn't it beautiful? I think so!!!

Awwww, I love them both! Great work Crusty and Sammie :)
Both yours and Sam's pieces are wonderful!!! I took a class with Misty at Artfest this year and she is such an amazing teacher! The piece you did in Michael's class is amazing!!! I only took two classes, Let's Face It with Katie Kendrick and Raw Creation Journaling with Juliana Coles, but don't have pics up yet. I've been so exhausted after I've gotten home from the classes that all I want to do is collapse. LOL!
Hey if you're going to be at vendor night tomorrow, I'd love it if you'd stop by my table and say hi. It's always so great to meet other Portland area mixed media artists. Your art dolls are fabulous by the way!!!
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww..... im so glad we're taking these classes together :)
thanks for holding my hand thru it all :)
xoxo
Christy, these are wonderful. And I totally agree about taking classes of different styles. I always learn something. That's how I found out about the Xyron machine- from Ulla!! Who knew??
