Last Days of 2008
Whew! Only 3 days left in 2008, and what a year it has been! I always spend a lot of this time planning for 2009 and what my goals are for the year. I really hope to make a "come back", as my world has been very upside down for the past 18 months. Taking care of mom and all her financial affairs has pressed my wings down hard....so I pray this year I can make my way to a happier time.
I wanted to show off my last 2 pieces of 2008 which were special orders for Christmas. I wanted to wait until after Christmas because I didn't want to spoil the surprise for their happy new Mamas.
I wish for only good and happy times for all of you bloggers in the world. May you always have fluttering wings to keep you high above the negative influences in our world. Keep dreaming and never give up! Love to you all!

WOW! SO MUCH FUN!!!!
Still trying to do laundry and clean up after being gone 4 days, but I wanted to post our picture taken with Jillian and Janet (of course) backstage before the show. It was a THRILL and I will try to post a video to show you some of the show...
I met up with my bestest friend, Sammie, in Las Vegas and introduced her to some of our oldest friends... A GREAT, GREAT TIME was had by all. I can't wait to do it again next week....lol... I wish!
Now back to the World of Whimsies! I've been really concentrating on what I REALLY want to do and work getting better from the inside out. Hopefully a Whimsie will appear occasionally.... Only time will tell! For now... keep positive and enjoy!

Leaving to Las Vegas to see Jilly and Janet!
They grow so fast... don't they? Elf and I are flying on a jet plane tomorrow to see Jillian perform in the Janet Jackson Rock Witchu Tour in Las Vegas, September 19th. Wow... what a road this has been for all of us, but especially Jillian. I feel this is one of those surreal moments that I will relive for a very long time. I hope to win a million dollars while I am there visiting, so I will let you know how that turns out! Until next week.... Christy

Celebrate and Rememberance
Jillian, Janet, and Laurel (from left to right)
It was a BIG night last night! My "little" girl performed her first concert with Janet Jackson in Vancouver, British Columbia. I will be flying to Las Vegas next week to see the concert myself, on September 19th. I am so EXCITED and proud to watch Jillian reach another milestone in her career path and be a part of her dreams!
I would like to honor all Americans on the 7th Anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. I pray you use this horrific reminder to listen to your heart and make the choices that will matter in your life. Live the very best life possible, and find your dreams!

Where have I gone?
LOL! I seem to mumble this statement to myself a lot lately..hahaha
I am working on some pieces for the PFATT Marketplace which will be released on 9/10/08, so I will keep you posted.... These pieces will be painted fabric dolls..something different for a change.
My dear friend, Lori/VintagePalette, is having a giveaway. Click on her name to enter.
It warms my heart that people come by my blog to see me, and leave a comment. Thank you! My artistic self is hiding from me lately, but I'm working on it... If you have a little extra room on your prayer list, I'd surely like some help. Take care and back soon!

Why is It?
It is just the strangest phenomonon.... The pieces you love the most always seem to give receive half the reception than the ones you aren't so in love with. It always perplexes me as I feel I am a person of good taste. lol
I just love this painting and hopefully someone else will... hahahahha
Click HERE to look and bid (praying and possibly begging) Until next time.

Happy Monday!
"Nighty Night" would like to wish you a happy and productive week on this fine Monday morning. Mondays can be such dreaded days for so many, and for me as well many moons ago. If you are a Monday hater, please know that this condition is not forever! You may change your destiny at any point.... Remember, you can DO IT!
I did make some sweet Halloween note cards which are still available for only $5.00! These will surely make someone tickled this Fall. Have a great day!

A little Project
Call me crazy, but I swear the weather is changing here in the Northwest...This subtle change spurred some "nesting" in my pig pen of a studio. lol... What? You don't create in a beautiful, sun-filled, artist loft? naaaaaaahhhhhhh...
I've recently added some new "tricks" to the Whimsie tool bucket... GOLDEN FLUID ACRYLICS, Artist Crayons, and Water Soluable Oil Pastels... So fun, however I needed to surround myself with my tools, so a little reorganization was needed.
Here's my little process and a Whimsie hint on how to paint anything!
1. Go to Thrift store and spent $1.50
Primed pieces with KILZ
Painted with acrylics
AHA! I did it!

Almost gone...
Seems like I was just muttering this same statement about the Summer this morning, but so is this JOL Salsa Can Man Here is the first my "GREEN WHIMSIES" collection... I will be recycling some of nature's biggest nemesis (ie plastic bags, foil, cans, etc) by incorporating into my art. As many of you know these supplies are not very beautiful or easy to work with! I've been playing mad scientist experimenting with each of these, and I hope to giving new life in art versus landfills. I'm excited at the challenge and possibilities!
I get sad thinking that Summer is passing so quickly... Let's just slow everything down! Sit in the bright rays. Smell the clothes on the line. Squeeze every bit of sweetness out of the season before it's gone...POOF!

Another EBAY item?? What in the heck!
I hope you have not fainted and hurt yourself from the fall, but I've managed to FINISH my 2nd Halloween Whimsie, a Vintage Can Witch, named "Wilamenia". I hope she finds a good new home! She has been very therapeutic, and I think that look shows in her face.... This is a 5 day auction ending on Wednesday, July 30th.. Wednesday?? I know, but I can't stand 7 day auctions... I have the patience of a gnat!
I've almost finished my Lisa Kaus Workshop piece.... and I had loads of fun creating in such a magical place. Give yourself a gift, and sign up for a workshop!!! You DESERVE IT!!! I will talk to you soon!

This is what we are making:
This is where I will be working:

Spiritual Help and a Ho Ho!
It was fast and furious, but the PFATT Marketplace was released on the 10th, and POOF, they were gone! I am so thankful that people even remember me, so when I sell something it just gives me a boost.
I wish I could go into all the behind the scenes actions here at home, but frankly it makes me tired and stressed out........ So, I will just say that with the help of "self help" books and a lot of prayers, I think I have solved my mom's financial troubles and home selling problem... I will know more by the end of next week, but I'm very excited at the solution....
I am a BIG believer in self help books... so if you are down and feeling like the world is crashing in on you.... I would like to suggest the following:
This book took me from 0 to 60 in only 188 pages...After I finished reading this book I quit my job and never looked back. I firmly believe this is a life changing book, and have read this book about 5 times. Super fast and cheap read.. Click HERE to order your own.
I just finished this one for the 2nd time, and this one could help many people during such worrisome times. A little more spiritual, however very comforting...Again very short (under 200 pages) but powerful... Order HERE
Get reading and and start believing. Thank you for stopping by! Christy

Another Goodbye...
Heaven got another great girl today.... our last chow, Whiskers. Whiskers has been not well for the past couple of weeks, but we gave it our all.
Whiskers has a lot of company up there, so I know she was welcomed. Her brother, Doc and sister, Asyln...her mama Emma and her daddy Bubba.... As well as Sampson, Pumpkin, Ruby, and good ole' Peeler. We have owned Chows for the past 28 years, and they have given us many years of love and friendship. We miss them all, and now Whiskers is at peace. God take care of her...

Guess who's teaching at the ZNE Convenzione 2009????? ME!!! Oh Lawd! I'm nervous already... It's been a long time since I've taught...HOWEVER, even more of a brain whacker is WHAT TO TEACH???? (and everyone else) So my last question of the Five....
If you were signing up for my class, what would you hope to learn in 6 hours????

Question #4 of Contest
License or not to License... That is the question... The Ashton Drake licensing was perfect for me as I was given the opportunity to create pieces I would never have had access to... With most licensing opportunities, you give them everything that makes your art unique.... As you can see... I'm very torn and need some help here.
No... Keep Whimsies One of a Kinds
Yes... Get them produced at a much more affordable price.
Yes... However only 2 dimensional images..(cards, wrapping paper, plates, etc...)
***You girls are doing great, and are a big help****
